Paul Young, CEO of Tekni-Plex Inc., today announced the retirement of Luc Vercruyssen, senior vice-president of the global Action Technology business unit and managing director of Tekni-Plex Europe NV. Luc will be succeeded by Johan Laureys, who previously served as managing director of Action Technology Italia SpA.
“Luc is stepping down after 44 years of distinguished service to the company,” Young said. “The Action Technology business and Tekni-Plex as a whole have benefited greatly from his passion for the industry and eagerness to mentor the next generation of leaders. Luc’s vision for the business included a strategic investment plan for standardized state-of-the-art rubber production equipment and processes around the world, assuring customers independent but identical sources of supply. We wish Luc a well-earned retirement, and we’ll miss him in our daily efforts to serve our customers around the world.”
Johan Laureys has more than 20 years of experience in the Action Technology business. He will serve as vice president of the Action Technology global business, managing director of Tekni-Plex Europe NV in Belgium and will remain the managing director of Action Technology Italia SpA.
“Johan has been intimately involved in all of the major activities and decisions in the business over the last few years, including setting up and operating a state of the art rubber formulation and production business in the Milan area,” Young said. “He is ready to take on the leadership position for the Action Technology business around the world, and we are very fortunate to have someone of his calibre to step right in to the role.”
